PUERTO PRINCESA,, Philippines – The province of Palawan is celebrating one of the best tourist destinations in the country and in the world, Puerto Princesa Underground River.
Puerto Princesa City, dubbed the “City in a Forest”, is celebrating the recognition of the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park as one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature in 2011. Activities will run from Nov. 3-12.
“This is the third year that we are celebrating this reason,” Protected Area and World Heritage Site official Elizabeth Macalang said.
“This year’s celebration is focused on making an impact, celebrating the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park’s Outstanding Universal value, not just to the communities within the park but in the entirety of the city and hopefully, nationally and internationally,” she added.
