After jaunting within the beautiful spots of Cebu City and tried the adventure of Canyoneering in Kawasan. I suggested my friend, Millie, to explore the beautiful island of Camotes instead in Bantayan island for some reasons. She’s quite reluctant about it but I insisted. Because I am very much concerned about the time that will be consumed getting there. Though it is not my first time to jaunt Camotes island, Cebu but I am still eager to wander the place because of its island way of life and peaceful surroundings.
We departed from Cebu City to Camotes island at exactly 6:00 AM via Ocean Jet. As we were in the middle of the sea all of us are worried because of the weather. It was raining and the waves really slap the boat.
At exactly 8:00 AM we arrived at Poro Port and hurriedly rented a tricycle for our day tour in the island. We paid the tricycle rent for 1000 PHP.
So we first visited the beautiful white sand beach resort in Camotes which is the Santiago White Beach Resort. Since we are just for a day tour, I promptly brought them to the public area of the resort instead of staying in the Santiago Bay Resort. Around 10:30 AM, we had our sumptuous in lunch in one of the economical restaurants in the area.
Before proceeding to our next destination, we make sure that we will have enough memories to leave. So we took a lot of pictures in the beautiful rock formations under the Santiago Bay resort.
Well, enough for that personal stuff, Lol! I know all of you are all excited with the Amazing Cave. So here is our next spot! The Amazing Island Cave and Resort. It’s good that I asked our driver, (I forgot his name) if what are the other beautiful spots to visit on the island aside from the famous Lake Danao, Mangudlong and whatsoever. So it was our driver’s idea to see visit the cave. According to him, the cave was opened 3 weeks ago.
And here you go! The photo above is the main entrance going down to the cave. For you to see the beautiful and pristine cavern you have to prepare 25php for without life vest and 35Php with the vest. So we took the 35Php entrance since one of our friends is not that good in swimming.Lol!
Amazing island cave is one of the eight natural caves and new in the island. This prominent cave is interestingly located on the island of Camotes on its northeastern side.
A lot of versions of interesting stories surrounding this cave can be heard from locals and those who claim to knowledge about this cave’s story.
At present, the cave is only basically developed to accommodate visitors from various places.
To keep the surroundings and the internals of the cave pristine and natural, only very few ‘developments’ are allowed to be implemented, such as making concrete steps from the entrance leading down towards the inside. This makes it safer for visitors to climb up and down, especially among children and older visitors.
Stalactites and stalagmites. These are signs that the cave is old and the usual attraction feature for caves in general. They are not huge compared to other popular caves in the world but interesting enough to explore with this cave’s size.
Here’s a quick peek on how I enjoyed swimming in the crystal clear water of cavern.
